Although raised in Colorado, Gary’s extensive military career has moved him all around the U.S. and beyond. This seasoned IT expert admits to nearly failing a basic computer science class. That near-miss aside, Gary earned degrees through the U.S. Air Force Academy and Webster University. His resume includes experience in the military, within the private business sector and in higher education instruction. He loves to teach, mentor and be an active member of problem solving teams.
A fun fact about Gary: While serving as an interim manager of anti-drug operations, Gary entertained the then-president of Honduras, his chief of staff, general of the armed forces and a slew of reporters on an island off the coast of Honduras.
Gary enjoys jazz, classical, hymns and 70’s music. He loves To Kill a Mockingbird (both the book and the film). His “go to” food is gourmet hamburgers and his vacation spot of choice is Destin, Florida. Gary’s hobbies include reading, bicycle riding, hiking/walking and playing old computer games. He is very proud of his family’s commitment to serve. His son is a soldier, his oldest son-in-law is a soldier, and his stepson is a deputy county sheriff.
